What a mess at my beloved Fulham FC: no succession plan for replacing Silva; no transfer strategy for the summer; and a nepo baby Director of Football.

The more Tony Khan speaks the more it proves that he’s absolutely clueless!

Meteora!! How is this not one of the 7 wonders of the world?

10 mile hike was challenging in 32C heat but ‘wow’ the scenery was stunningly beautiful.

Huge number of tourist buses in the road. Not a soul on the hiking paths. Only mad dogs and Englishmen??

Hello, I’m Julia - today, the National Park has handed their socials over to me to talk about my experience of bags of rubbish, broken glass, and empty cans left scattered where I live. This is damaging, dangerous, and avoidable. If you're visiting, please respect the Dales 🙏

Sad to be leaving Plovdiv, Bulgaria.

Ancient city with Roman and other archeological ruins intermingled with modern commerce.

Also good food and a relaxing atmosphere. A place to come back to…

Istanbul is a world city, expensive, noisy and chaotic.

Had fun, enjoyed Guhane Park and using public transport ferry to cross the Bosphorus.

Looking forward to sleeper train to Plovdiv in Bulgaria tonight. And a more relaxing few days.

It would be nice to hear that Fulham have been speaking to other potential managers - but we seem to react to rather than shaping events. #fulhamfc #football

I am excited to have made it to Constanta, and my first ever sight of the Black Sea.

About to indulge in a slap up seafood dinner with this harbour view.

Thank you CFR - Romanian trains are great! - If a bit slow ;-)

My wife knows me well - hidden in my backpack for my birthday, a second hand copy of Barbara Kingsolver’s Homeland; a short story collection. Good to read on the train across Romania today.

Brasov had been busy today with its marathon and rally car festival.

I chose the art gallery, a hike up Tampa (where there is a Hollywood style sign), and an early tea on my balcony with a view. Perhaps life is a bowl of cherries?

Exploring Sibiu - or Hermannstadt: - first a guided tour of the Saxon old town - then a long walk to the amazing Astra Museum park of lovingly recreated houses from Romania’s past.

There’s an unfinished Ceausescu concrete monstrosity hiding in one photo.

Entertaining, enjoyable train journey today from Sighisoara to Sibiu, 57 miles in 2 hours 20mins.

Beer is good (German Helles) at St Andrews Scottish bar in Sibiu.

Supermarket food options I am not so sure about

Arrived in Sighisoara (Romania) at 7.30am and was up in the hills hiking by 8.30. Rewarded with my first ever bear sighting.

First thought - take a photo. Second thought - bears are dangerous, sneak away before it eats you!! #hiking #sighisoara #romania #eurorail #interrail

Wes has been hugely ineffective as a Government Minister - he arrived from years in opposition with sound bites but no strategic plan for health. It took a year for a plan to emerge and then he decided to move the deckchairs (get rid of NHS England).

He’s an example of failure not a solution.

Japan and Taiwan have enviable care systems because they had the courage to plan – some solutions are radical, most are hiding in plain sight, says author John Kampfner
