Having written off 4 years of carbon tax revenue (and no indication yet how that hole will be filled) the Tanaiste spends a section of his speech talking about how important energy transition is to his Government.

But what the the measures he is actually announcing?

Abortion rights are human rights & while the DUP can delay the lighting up of City Hall, that doesn't negate the need to still mark International Safe Abortion Day.

The residents of the Garvaghy Road have a right to live in peace. That shouldn't be a controversial thing to say.

Garvaghy Road residents have called for independent international mediation in the Drumcree dispute. We agree: this can't be fixed by the same institutions that caused it.

Independent mediation now.

Green Party Deputy Leader Lesley Veronica said: "What we have seen at Drumcree is a failure of politics, a failure of process, and most importantly, a failure to properly listen to the people who have lived with the consequences of this dispute for decades.

Lough Neagh is part of our shared home.

Today we stood with others at Stormont to call for clean water and urgent action to protect one of our most important natural resources.

Toxic algae cannot be allowed to become normal.

“Today, the Parades Commission allowed a restricted parade down the Garvaghy Road, first time in almost 30 years. This is not a moment for triumphalism, but responsibility. We owe the next generation a broken cycle, not a repeated one.”

But when is it going to be shared with the rest of us? We can’t prepare for what we don’t know - it should be published in full

North Sea drilling makes no economic or energy security sense - but “the policy could scarcely be better designed to give the final push to voters who are minded – after so many disappointments since 2024 – to abandon Labour for a progressive alternative”
Is Burnham trying to appease Trump? Or Reform? What other reason is there for these North Sea oil plans? | George Monbiot
Climate catastrophe is on our doorstep – yet Labour’s impending approval of further drilling will bring more pain for negligible gains, says Guardian columnist George Monbiot

People don't just fall through the cracks. Sometimes the cracks are left there on purpose.

Underfunded mental health services. Poverty. Homelessness. Isolation. Discrimination. Years-long waiting lists. A benefits system that punishes disabled people for being disabled.

Paul Givan says fairness means scrapping priority for disadvantaged children in pre-school admissions. Real fairness means finishing the job first. Only 65% of children currently have a full-time pre-school place. This is not a universal system yet, whatever the Minister calls it.

£5,500. That’s how much worse off every household in Northern Ireland could be, every year, by 2040, if our water infrastructure isn’t fixed. That’s not our modelling. That’s industry itself, sounding the alarm.

Last night Brian challenged the DUP on housing. 20 years in government, & working class Loyalist communities are still waiting on the secure, affordable homes, jobs & investment they were promised. Twenty years is long enough to judge a party on delivery, not promises.
