@snellarthur.bsky.social I enjoyed your book greatly, it's such a vital topic that clearly has been neglected. I learnt a lot, but I feel that parts on small nuclear reactors and hydrogen skated over a lot of the issues with those particular technologies.

'Wind and solar generated a record 41% share of the UK’s electricity needs in 2026 to date, compared with 25% from gas, avoiding the need for gas imports worth £5.9bn since the outbreak of war between the US and Iran in February.'

We're pushing 1,500 MW today from the under-construction cluster of wind farms in the North Sea, and they're mostly capped at ~50% capacity for now

When complete these three will be outputting at 3,800 MW on a windy day

Every death in our Channel could be prevented.
The three people who died trying to reach safety yesterday were betrayed by politicians, who've chosen to ignore the evidence and prioritise deadly hostility over saving lives.
But this tragedy doesn't have to be repeated.
Safe routes save lives.

Did you know that a Farage Reform govt intends to scrap the NHS? The private health care system he wants to introduce would cost you £10,000s, like the US, where getting ill can bankrupt you.

Perhaps when Westminster floods it might focus some attention on these issues
Scientists forecast that Godzilla El Niño will put London at increased risk of flooding🌧. Extra rain caused by fossil fuel driven climate change fuels North Sea storm surges pushing up the tidal Thames + swollen rivers & tributaries + intense rainfall overwhelming drainage in the densely built city🌊

There's also the savings from not building new gas power stations etc

This cannot be repeated too often.
