38, he/him. Just a furry nerd living in the Boston area. Talks about music, computers, math, tabletop board & card games, kitschy old media, and whatever else comes to mind. Demi, gay, and single.

Now that I've cleaned my profile, it's time for a new #introduction...

My name's Sutter! I'm some guy who pretends to be a cartoon badger on the Internet. Interests include music, computers, math, tabletop board & card games, and kitschy old media. My day job is grant management for a nonprofit.
Somewhere in this hundred year-old house there is a section of steam piping which, whenever the heat is on, makes a "ping" sound every few minutes that sounds identical to the Teams notification ping. This is hell.

I’ve been afraid of saying something for about 10 months now, about why I haven’t gone to Boston or hung out with Remy and Scales anymore.

I can’t take staying quiet about it anymore.

Got to see this game in person! So cute. If I was still one for Amazon wishlists, I’d throw it on one.

Ooh, the YT algorithm brought this one back to my attention. I first heard this when @lunostophiles.bsky.social told me about it and said it sounds like it belongs on the Silent Hill 2 OST.

All righty, I finally sprung for a Dropout subscription. Time to see what everyone's been raving about for years.

Thinking back to my earliest interactions with social media, there really hasn't been a time when it wasn't a harassment vector. The first time I heard of Myspace, it was when some high school classmates set up a fake profile for me to mock me. Not much has changed in a quarter century.

Ballot: Filled out, stuffed in envelope, ready to mail back. Holy moly there are some intense questions this year.

Massachusetts voters, we have nine questions on the ballot this go around, and some of them are stupid as shit and need to get voted down.

Read the booklet, inform yourself and vote accordingly.

Easy does it. Your main goal today is make it through-- & many people aren't going to understand how hard that is. Don't get up in your head about them. Breathe, blink, & focus, one minute at a time.

There are more survivors doing life minute by minute today than you think.

Remember kids: NEVER STOP A MED WITHOUT TALKING TO YOUR DR.

I'm so guilty of this and it's fucked me over EVERY time.

At this point the stress juice has mostly worn off. I'm relieved that you-know-what became a topic of open discussion. A weight was taken off of me. I don't feel endangered anymore. Maybe now I can dial down the "protector mode" that I've been in all year, and go back to being just some guy.

Primer (2004) is one of my favorite films, although as a disclaimer I'm aware of the filmmaker's later misconduct.

Primer is a compelling portrayal of a toxic adult friendship. Take note of every time Aaron acts entitled and disrespectful towards Abe. It takes a lot before Abe figures it out.

Back in the '10s, when I was a naive twentysomething just trying to make local friends, I organized a little friendly pub quiz team. I'd text everyone midday Tuesdays to get a head count, and then the folks who could make it would meet up for drinks and quizzing. This went on for a couple years.

So, I've been talking a lot about "centering the needs and experiences of impacted parties" and it's time to put my money where my mouth is. What do I, as a person impacted by you-know-what, need from my peer group?

So let's talk about psychological safety in shared spaces.

Some of the people that have their hands all over the Boston area furry club events are exactly why I refuse to attend any of them.

Fortunately, other local groups host events in the city that are also furry friendly on a pretty regular basis.
If you're a Boston local, DO NOT attend Nuzzle or the Brewery meet they run. They are DANGEROUS PEOPLE

My nerves aren't used to this odd sensation... Safety? Maybe not this minute, but in the near future? Like, maybe I can show up to an art jam or whatever, and just happily draw some cartoon animal people without 99% of my brainpower going toward hypervigilance. I might MAKE FRIENDS?!

I am a survivor of sexual misconduct and smear campaigns perpetrated by Remy Connors.

There was a time when I thought it was just once and just me, and that I was somehow responsible for what happened. I'm proud to say the gaslighting has worn off. It wasn't just once and it wasn't just me.

i've struggled with naming names, bc they have been ruthlessly successful at burning the paper trail of their misdeeds and running DARVO campaigns on 10-20 people at a time, but idc anymore: fuck remy and scales. i have never seen anyone do more harm in the furry fandom compared to those two
the boston-area bastards who tried to trash my reputation in the furry fandom are a big reason why i wear my heart on my sleeve without reservations

they hate therians, plural systems, ABDL/ regressors, they want these things to be slurs. if you refuse, they just lie that you're an abuser or bigot

It's telethon week on the music station, and they're counting down the best songs of the '90s as voted on by listeners. I'd be interested to see a breakdown of how many of these songs have male vocalists and how many don't.

Someday I've got to watch through this whole show. I've heard praise about its frank portrayal of the dramatic, manipulative, and destructive behavior of a person suffering from a cluster B personality disorder.
