In my experience, it is 100% true that a huge number of ppl "like" the use of LLMs in their workday
But they specifically like access to a software system that plagiarises other people's labor so they can do less work (even if it produces lower quality or outright false output). They like cheating

Basically: using tiny, not-that-impactful traditional AI systems to excuse and ignore the massive environmentally destructive LLM chatbot systems is very much the same as the fossil fuel industry and how it uses CCS to justify its expansion of fossil fuels - as I explain here:

This whole thing is great but there's a bit at the end where they highlight how X has been a particularly bad place to be in terms of panic, and I think the way so many normally-rational people lost their minds during this cycle is a nice demo of how X is permanently ruining a whole bunch of people
