Not really my main social media platform, mainly here just to follow cool people. If you're reading this because I followed you, you're cool! (You do not need to follow back; I am not cool.)

Went to google some minor C++ thing and for some reason Gemini felt compelled to dump a ton of info, including this:

Still waiting for the supercomputers to finish crunching the numbers for this package delivery.

Whew, finally, this is probably the single hardest lost sector in the game to do flawless solo master. Even with the OP stasis titan build, it took me 5 tries or so.

So many bunnies on the way to work this morning. 🐰

I still walk to and from work each day, which I used to think of as wasted time, but really it gives me a chance to collect my thoughts, like "oh god it's hot out", "why is it so hot today", and "man, I wish it wasn't so hot".

One of the furry community's originals, Roz Gibson, is in really big trouble.

She is in kidney failure, and needs a donor, so please reskeet.

The shrinkflation is pretty brazen when they've got both the old and new sizes right next to each other on the shelves...

(According to the receipt, I paid $4.99 for the 6-bar one, so the price did technically go down, but it's still an 11% increase by weight.)

The Bow River isn't anywhere close to flooding, fortunately, but I was curious just how far it had risen, so here's a comparison shot of the boat launch near the Peace Bridge from last year and today. This should be about the peak for this storm.

Canadians: there's a Parliament petition up to withdraw the surveillance bill, C-22. It's sponsored by NDP MP Jenny Kwan. Please consider signing, but also make sure to call your MP and tell them why you oppose it. www.ourcommons.ca/petitions/en...

It's gosling time again, though I don't normally see them this far away from the riverbanks.

You don't know me, TurboTax.

Finally got out and did a river walk, the first since...last August? Jeez... I was tempted to cut it short since my back started hurting, but pushed through to the full 6.2km (in 69:15, 5.4km/h, not the greatest pace, but I'll take it after that big a gap).

Reinstalled EverQuest for the first time in like 10 years, and was hit simultaneously by a feeling of comforting familiarity at a UI that hasn't changed at all in all that time, and a feeling of being completely lost at how to use any of it.

Just finished writing a whole module of JUnit tests and they all passed on the first try, so now I know I must have *really* screwed something up...

"Hmm, it's up to -20C, maybe I should walk home if it's not too windy out."

*gets punched in the face by the wind as soon as I step outside*

"Well, at least I can take the train."

*train is delayed 20 minutes*

Well, apparently you can go to bed and wake up with a whole new vision problem (double vision, with faint shadow copies of things slightly to the upper-left). It's only really noticeable when looking at small things like text, at least.

Getting old sucks, I do not recommend it.

Hey, I'm trying to help! I didn't even take a shower this morning, and I may not take one tomorrow!

...huh, all my friends are suddenly busy this weekend...

Calgary’s water supply is under strain —again. Why aren't residents cutting back? | CBC News
It’s an all-too-familiar ask of a city likely weary of water restrictions: reduce your water intake, or risk overwhelming the system.  But whether that message is getting across — or how many care to ...

Visiting family is about the only time I watch TV and get to see what the ads are like.

- oh god there are so many casino ads now
- apparently I'm supposed to be simultaneously buying gold and selling all the gold I own
- not as many AI ads as I expected, but I saw one for AI heart analysis? Um, no

Y'know, when I get around to it, laundry isn't that bad; I don't have much so it doesn't take long, it's kind of relaxing to sort through it after...

But I will forever fight tooth and nail and scrounge every corner of the closet and dressers to put it off one more day.

Hmmm, I'm having trouble finding good info on this, maybe this is something AI could actually help with?

Me: "Hey Copilot, how do I do <x>?"

Copilot: "Have you considered checking the documentation?"

...thanks Copilot, very helpful
