I kind of wish I had been alive in 1938 for the War of the Worlds broadcast. That fear was real. I'd like to have experienced thinking aliens actually landed and were destroying humanity. I doubt many at the time thought they were lucky for the unique experience, but they kind of were.

The Chinese government has a significant advantage over the West because it doesn't have to ascribe to any form of religion. The requirement of demonstrating fealty to an imaginary friend in order to be considered worthy will always mitigate against effective leadership.
