Former professional investor, now farm owner. Trump hater since 1986. Mostly re-posting from this account.

Son loves Tintin, I am not actually a Belgian journalist, nor do I live in the Soviet Union.

this is sort of an unusual problem to have as an industry I think?

normally industries don't have improvements happening so fast that your capex gets plowed under within the year.

but like, Opus 4.1 came out a year ago and it's a dinosaur now

This is priceless.

Check out how local news is reporting on Sen Eric Schmidt’s clown-show grilling of Jack Smith.

They found Jack Smith at the game…

“Top corner, section 109, row 1. In fact, that seat doesn’t even exist in Atlanta.”

What the hell is this, Perry Mason at the carnival? This is some of the worst goddamn lawyering I ever saw. Schmitt is a lawyer!
A phenomenal moment in the Senate.

Eric Schmitt, R-Mo., claims he has evidence Jack Smith went to a HAWKS game in Atlanta.

Smith denies it.

Schmitt declares he has busted Jack Smith for perjury.

Smith, vexed, says he went to HAWKEYES game in Maryland.

It is natural that people would prefer to be around other people of the same race. That is why I avoid my wife as much as possible.

Whether it’s Benjamin Netanyahu empowering Hamas, presiding over a massive intelligence failure that let them kill 1,200 Israelis on October 7th, and then killing 74,000 Palestinians in response or Zohran Mamdani pointing out that he did this, both men have fueled their bitter feud.

Like everything else Trump “fixes,” the reflecting pool (along with the war in Iran, gas prices, beef prices, and mortgage rates) is in exponentially worse shape than when he started.

if you've ever had a salesman who really needs a sale doubling down on the hard sell you know this guy. like wow there's more oil coming throuhg the strait than ever. yeah that makes sense. we should be at war with them forever. it's great at holding down the price of gas!
Trump: "I'm rejecting their deal. They want to make a deal where they open the strait immediately ... we're winning tremendously. We have total control of the Hormuz Strait ... that deal would not be acceptable. They want to immediately open the Hormuz Strait."

Analysis | A Democratic midterm rout could end up as a gift to Mr. Trump, setting him up to end his term as a pragmatic, centrist unifier—drawing upon his decades in business to deliver results for the country.

amazing -- Karl Rove lists Paxton's scandals: "The corrupt business guy gives him a fake Uber account and the records of that are now in his impeachment proceedings, so we know how often he went to have sex with Laura Olsen. I mean, can you make this shit up?"

The verb "to promise," what does it even mean?
Generative AI? No. Not in the slightest. ANYTHING that comes from it is garbage. Useless except to companies that want to get rid of those pesky artists that want to be paid for their work.

There is no reason to generate images using that trash. No reason to gen music. No reason for videos/games.

Donald Trump is an active threat to American democracy and the global order —causing everything from mass inflation to disease outbreaks. But Democrats have failed to be truly exciting and inspirational. It’s little wonder so many voters will sit this election out.
