very excited for all the disneyland influencers to show up to disneyland tomorrow, book a reservation, and then stand outside the gate at 11:00pm, not use it, and be like

"Well, we did it. Thanks for sticking with me and the super chats while I tested this new feature."

Like did they send out a "no we actually care about our passholder community" email from the president of Disneyland because of the Chapek book?

I feel like they would have just been like "good news!" before.

Thoughts:

No price increases means that they've reached the top of the market right now.

I don't see this minor operational change being a huge new draw for people to buy/renew either, this feels more to engage renewals or existing passholders.
No more Disneyland No-show penalty

it's kinda fucking crazy that Uni somehow got a parks character into Fortnite proper before the whole "we ARE fortnite we gave Epic a billion dollars" Disney did!
Here’s a look at the Jack the Clown Fortnite bundle now available for 2,000 V-Bucks.

In a way (especially the ceiling columns), very similar to what they did to the Muppet theater at DCA when they converted it into Frozen Fun (and then Sunset Showcase).

I wonder if they are thinking of flexing this show into DCA too. Might be a fun replacement when/if Monsters closes.
A third Welcome to Monstropolis pre-show concept art is out, with a new green and gold color scheme and renamed concessions.

I would have at least printed a custom "Behind the EPCOT Walls" cover.
sure why not

the celebrity preshow is bad and problematic - that building since 1996
The Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind pre-show has been updated to remove a pause that invited guests to yell a response

Aspiring comedians often used the moment to shout out something obnoxious, with "alcoholics" as the go-to punchline

they should have just edited the guardians pre-show when it was quiet to add the Ellen "audience shouting" audio

"sleep study" "cut to black" "DREAM SEQUENCE!"

Happy 55th Walt Disney World!

Thanks for all the trips, fun, and memories over the years.

You'll always be one of my favorite places in the world.

All this resentment, I feel - started at the 24 hour 60th party, when Michael Colglazer got a late-night call saying that the party had blocked I-5 North and that they needed to do something about it - and Disneyland was empty because they didn't plan correctly.
So I just finished the first section of the Chapek book, and I’ll sum it up like this: I have often accused TWDC of actively resenting their parks guests, and some folks said that was too far, but this book is proof straight from the source that I was absolutely spot on with that assessment

I miss it. A lot.

I miss the old community and what it was.

I miss the purpose, the fun, and why I wanted to live and work in Irvine to begin with.

I miss the evenings spent at the resort after work, the ambition of the entertainment and operations to keep that audience enagaged.

The continued contempt that they show for their customers makes me wonder if all the good guys are gone. I can count on one hand the number of my friends that still hold an AP, er, I mean Magic Key. That used be hundreds.

It's just all continuously burning long-term goodwill for short-term gain, and assuming that there would never be any pushback on the product - ever.

Of everything rumored - this seems the most realistic to me.

The building that is the Matterhorn is mostly wood, and those yearly track rebuilds have got to really be getting up there cost-wise.

Mine was that same Tandy 1000!

Got it for $5 from a Garage Sale in like ~1993. Called Radio Shack to see if they had DOS disks for it, and they helped me find/make some!
What was your first computer growing up?

McDonald's isn't doing the free codes via the Internet this year, and instead switched back to sending a SASE to a PO Box.

They must have given away so much stuff. I was getting my full 8 codes via the web everyday almost the whole game.

the movie being anti screen and disney being like "lets put a giant screen in toy story land to entertain the kids rather than riding our rides" is so funny.
