I’ve been trying out white clay to see if I can get my surface decoration back to a level that feels fun and not so arduous and so far I think I’m liking it!

I feel like I’m finally getting close to the maroon color I’ve been chasing. AND this last load was finally a success. No crawling, no warping, no slip flaking, no over-firing. It’s nice to feel cautiously optimistic.

Another delightfully caffeinated handle on another yellow mug. If this is a pattern, I'm not mad about it

Been feeling pretty shy about sharing this because imposter feelings run deep, but also extremely stoked to have a written piece out in the world. The Aug/Sept issue of Pottery Making Illustrated is out, & I'm honored to be included with so many incredible artists.

The finished mug from today's workshop!
I cannot say "thank you" enough to everyone who tuned in, asked questions, and listened to me blather on. And to @pocosinarts.bsky.social for allowing me to do my first workshop!! I had a great time 😄

Nothing like pushing firings down to the wire and testing new slip colors on actual pieces (as opposed to test tiles) 🫠
