Her Thoreau-like account of journeys in the woods, published when she was 28, was the first of many ruminations on life and nature, good and evil.

looks like that 'I am not complicit ' shirt isn’t answering all those questions huh Eddy
Ed Sheeran has released a statement on Macklemore being removed from his tour for speaking up for Palestine:

“I am not complicit. […] Just because I choose not to speak publicly, it doesn't mean I don't have [my own opinions], and it doesn't mean I don't care.”

I am almost 35 years old and have seen a lot of scary movies in my life, but nothing unsettles me more to this day than the Lonely Goatherd puppet scene from The Sound of Music. Yes, the nazis are evil but the puppets are somehow Worse

Thesis: AI is a trope machine. Out of the chaos of information it is fed, it identifies stereotypes that can be repeated ad nauseam, automating even the variation of the trope as it iterates over time. The more power we hand over to it, the more the reality it influences will become like genre.

The amount of working artists I've spoken to who are losing or have lost the ability to make a viable career out of it due largely to people's use of genAI instead of hiring artists is genuinely so upsetting. We won't know what we've lost until it's gone.
