it's really frustrating to see a game that has a ton of visual and stylistic effort put into it but it's all super millennial writing snark empty dialogue that doesn't do anything for the character or the story or literally anything

i have a really big pet peeve for people who can't distinguish 'good comedy-horror movie that is intentionally funny' from 'so bad it's good'
Dead-Alive/Braindead is not 'so bad it's good' its just really fucking good and has an insane amount of effective line and sight gags

been playing a lot of Quake 1 custom stuff lately and i think i like maps the most when they're chunky looking and Quake-like in geometry (even if they have a lot of custom textures or different atmosphere and stuff) - i start to feel a disconnect when it starts looking too modern
