Here’s my #foxoftheday a rather small, cute one! Think the set is the other side of our garden fence in some dense brambles and this cub decided to explore! @chrisgpackham.bsky.social

Went to Pashley Manor Gardens to see their famous display of tulips. Been meaning to for years but never quite got around to it. Stunning!

Such a lovely spring day that I sneaked out and did a couple
of hours in the garden. The magnolia is blooming and the flowering currant was a cutting from
our previous house.

Had to fill up with petrol yesterday so made a point of looking out for the cheapest petrol station on a twenty mile journey. The price varied by ten pence a litre. How can that be justified? Even the cheapest can’t have been selling at a loss….😡

Checked my bees today, all dead. This relentless wet weather has done for them. So disappointing. This will be the first spring for a long time with no bees in my apiary. 😔

There are signs of spring! They couldn’t be more welcome…

Today is #NationalSnowdropDay apparently. Four years ago, when we first moved to our house, I planted a pot of snowdrops, in the green, and they’ve never been seen since… until this year, when a sole survivor has appeared. Hoping it’ll clump up! 😂

I wrote this song on Saturday, recorded it yesterday and released it to you today in response to the state terror being visited on the city of Minneapolis. It’s dedicated to the people of Minneapolis, our innocent immigrant neighbors and in memory of Alex Pretti and Renee Good.

Went to see Hamnet at the cinema yesterday. The original book by Maggie O’Farrell was really good and so is the film. If you haven’t seen it, take tissues!

Did my January count for @btobirds.bsky.social Winter Bird Survey today. Nothing exceptional
but a good range of woodland birds and a pleasant way to spend a Sunday morning. Lots of redwings still around, feeding on the berries.

This year, for the first time, I’m doing an annual list of all the bird species I see, where and when. Have you done this? How many did you see and did you only include birds you saw rather than heard? #birdwatching
