Whenever I see birds feasting on thistles and other wildflowers, I wonder who the heck decided those were weeds that should be replaced by unsustainable cultivated, often in hothouses, flowers and useless, non-native lawns. #tempelhoferfeld #handsofftempelhoferfeld #flughafentempelhof_thf

I went in search of a rare, highly endangered moth or butterfly (unfortunately, I have forgotten the name), which reportedly turns up on Tempelhofer Feld every year in August. I did not find it, so this will have to do for now :-). #handsofftempelhoferfeld #tempelhoferfeld

Tempelhofer Feld from about 05.45 to 07.15 this morning. In that time, Merlin heard 23 different birds. Of course the birding app is not always right, and cannot always tell the difference when some birds imitate other birds, but that is still an extraordinary number. #handsofftempelhoferfeld
