Save more, spend less - targeted support for all says a commercial People's Pension. henrytapper.com/2026/09/12/s... This targeted support is a worry, like the bank manager calling you in to tell you you are saving too little or spending too much.

Cutting out the need for financial advice. The amount of support people need at retirement is up to the difficulty of the choices that are set them and their confidence in what is being offered the…

The job of a blogger is not just to write blogs, it is to put them in places where people run into them. This appears random to me. This is my 17th year as a blogger and apart from my 5 weeks in neurological recovery from a brain haemorrhage, I've blogged every week and lately every day. Some blogs get a handful of readers, some get several thousand.

Can’t get to grips with collective pensions? LCP and Barbi-can!
I'm sorry about the poor headline to this post but the Barbican was part of the experience of LCP's DB conference yesterday. I'll call it a collective pension conference as CDC crashed the party. It looks like LCP , the trustees and employers and one proprietor of CDC services (who had crept in quietly) could equate the DB they grew up with with the CDC that was presented as a workplace pension by Steven Hartley and Helen Draper.

The state pension increase – thoughts from an actuary who knows!
Those of you who read my blog a lot will know that there is only one person who knows the state pension who is an actuary and a pension expert. I will not name him but this is his response to my blog today, It needs its own blog. It gives an insider's view on what the triple lock really is, how we got to it (politically) and how it can be replaced by a more sensible way of managing state pension increases.

Can we expect with confidence the collective pension that we're promised? henrytapper.com/2026/09/16/c... I believe CDC can give a better answer about the assumptions that are made;  CDC assumptions should be challenged and adjusted if they can't be justified.
