I will never understand why the threat of catastrophic climate change hasn't been the most important issue for everyone over the last 20 years. I don't even bother anymore, it's far too late to do anything about it now or to even lessen the impacts.

As the Mid-Terms draw closer, expect to see a HUGE uptick in the number of people trying to discourage voting by spreading "both parties are the same" or "voting doesn't change anything" type messages.

It's hard to understand why devastating climate change, an existential threat to us all, is not on most people's radar. The current regime in the USA really put the kibosh on preparation and mitigation. Well, I am sure that THEY are preparing to look after themselves (see Bunker/Ballroom).

I think the confusion is on purpose. Supporting America 250 is giving in the finger to Freedumb 250.
Congress created the United States Semiquincentennial Commission, d/b/a "America 250," that was supposed to be in charge of the commemorations. Trump ransacked and sidelined it, and imposed his own "Freedom 250" partisan personality cult shitshow. That's the org that's taken over the Mall.
