😱 In a state of existential despair after listening to @heydonworks.com Hopeless Horror hole for days, I was lead from the torment by the hand of the @londonwebstandards.org & the opportunity to see the Ken Dodd of Standards @brucel.bsky.social in the flesh 🛐

Heydon Pickering has been very busy building out a declarative, web component-based system for making music with HTML, along with a stunning companion site.

on two occasions I have run into a dude who went with the "I identify as a woman" thing because he thinks its really funny and my learning has been that if you take his word for it and start calling him a woman he stops finding it funny in about 1 second and starts getting upset & so you don't stop

I found a bug with my `` element: the detune value wasn't accounted for in ADSR calculation.

In other words, the Bootsy Collins-inspired algorithmic porn-funk of this example is now 25-50% more Bootsy Collins.

I made this video (and the music) when I was in Iceland having a nervy b. I forgot how unhinged and overwrought it is. Yikes. Holds up though LMAO

Really important to understand that AI has not become *more* AI, *real* AI, or *good* AI since the late 70s. It's still a parlour trick. The parlour has just got a lot bigger and the trick a lot more tricksy.
Was doing some research and... wow... 1978.

Great to see folks still sharing videos from briefs.video. I could never keep up with the kind of release cadence youtube demands. Or, consequently, get any real reach or make any money. But, damn it, they're memorable. The few people that see them fucking _remember_.

Had the same thought. Would be especially useful for custom elements. hyperblam.how ends each node name with -blam and (since they are audio elements with generally no UI) I'd love to do:

*-blam { display: contents }
