My 7 year old is grumpy today because he watched School Of Rock last week and he can’t stop thinking about it and it’s daddy’s fault for choosing the movie 🤣

Good ideas in software delivery often sound wrong at first, which is why teams reject them before giving them a chance. Hibri's session explored why our intuition misleads us so…

I don't think people understand the extent to which this has been a decade plus long billionaire funded campaign (obviously Thiel is involved). We've tried to ring the alarm about these eugenicists but it is too easy for them to get parroted by the mainstream media.

What I love about reading the Discworld books is that whilst its set in a fantasy world, it's very much a critique on the norms of the real world. Was listening to the Men at Arms audiobook yesterday and loved how it engages with diversity, monarchy and racism.

2. If we stop trading slaves / extracting fossil fuels, we will hand an advantage to our commercial rivals, who are bound to continue (because foreigners are perfidious).

3. The slaves / planet will then be worse off, because foreign slave traders / fossil fuel producers are dirtier than ours.

Join us in discussing Meadows’ “Leverage Points”?

‘“This is a HUGE NEW SYSTEM people are inventing!” I said to myself. “They haven’t the SLIGHTEST IDEA how this complex structure will behave,” myself said back to me. “It’s almost certainly an example of cranking the system in the wrong direction”’
Next in our #PapersInSystems discussions: Donella Meadows' "Leverage Points: Places to Intervene in a System."

When: Mon, Aug 3, 2026, 1PM - 2PM Eastern Time (US/Canada) (19:00 CEST)

NEW: The story behind a silencing.

Facebook whistleblower Sarah Wynn Williams is trapped in a parallel private justice system. I've written about what it tells us about the "post-state" future, a cryptolibertarian dream that's close than we realise.

Facebook's silencing of a whistleblower shines a light on a private justice system and a "post-state" future where tech bros write the rules. Or as we call them, "laws"

Is Conway's Law just a hunch? Or is it a law? Conway didn't provide a proof in 1968.

But decades later, academic research confirms the hypothesis.

One of the problems with AI generated code review is that pretty much anyone can give a review without any context or design discussion. They probably won’t understand any fixes made. The worrying bit is that there is no discussion with a human.

But (oh, here he goes), there are still some places left on the upcoming workshops, and even without the discount that ended last night, they're worth every penny!

Closed a 10 year old issue in HttpMock github.com/hibri/HttpMo.... Life got in the way of supporting the latest .Net version. HttpMock 3.0 is out. However, for the last 3 weeks I've been prompting CoPilot with Opus 4.6 to do the internal rewrite.
