The way Zeta Gundam tackles gender is Complicated™ but I do applaud it for how it handles Paptimus Scirocco as a villain. The way it so clearly shows how a man will abuse and manipulate the women around him under the guise of being a supportive feminist ally makes him feel so realistically gross

Some small thoughts on the #SayonaraLara finale: while the Utena references in this episode are clear, it feels like the writers also missed what makes Utena land in the first place.

Gentle observation from an outsider over the course of several weeks: when you vaguepost about ~thing you don't like~, you mostly just make a lot of folks needlessly catch strays and cause discourse that is shadowboxing literally no one who actually exists

Per the USDA, the average American eats half a pound of sherbet per person per year and I just want to know who's out there eating enough sherbet for the 99% of us who don't

Amuro, have you ever realized that the video games often labeled as “girl games” revolve around positions like store owner or farmer which for generations were opportunities only given to men. As a child of a mother, do you feel this reflects how nonviolent care is incompatible with our masculinity?

Walking past a group of twenty-something guys discussing their attachment styles to each other is possibly the SF-est thing I've witnessed in Quite A While.

If it's been 30 years since the song and football still hasn't come home, perhaps you need to give up the ghost.

Nothing like asking "who's the gay NPR guy" and Google going "actually, they're all gay." 🤗🌈
(I was thinking of David Sedaris if you need your gay NPR contributors noted.)
