A month ago, Frodo tore his rear ACL. Today marked three weeks post-surgery, and the vet is thrilled with the healing and pleasantly surprised by how much weight Frodo puts on it.

He still has more energy than he can easily burn off, but it's a relief to know that things are progressing smoothly!

While I'm disappointed that USC and Notre Dame won't play each other for the next four years, I'm glad that sanity has returned and they will resume one of the best college football traditions in 2030!

Tonight's show. I'm not sure how high my hopes are for this one.

Last day at the parks, and last day in Tokyo. We hit some rides in Disney Sea, bought some souvenirs, got to walk around on Captain Hook's ship, sampled many of the flavored popcorn offerings (caramel, milk chocolate, and curry), and I hit a point of complete exhaustion. Successful Disney-ing!

A great day at Tokyo Disneyland! We were at the park at rope drop and stayed almost to closing, while hitting 15 unique rides (18 total), including old favorites & new-to-us ones like Beauty and the Beast, Pooh's Hunny Hunt, Monsters Inc., & Micky's Philharmagic. As always, a magical day at Disney!

For our final "free" day in Tokyo, we headed over to the geek mall at Nakano Broadway, & moved to our Disneyland hotel. We couldn't resist an evening ticket to Tokyo Disney Sea, and we rode 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Aquatopia, the Railroad, Sindbad's Storybook Voyage, & Peter Pan's Never Land.

For fun, I decided to try a gacha machine. I got exactly the instrument I was hoping for!

We chose the Suntory Museum as our day's first stop. They had a special exhibition on Kawanabe Kyōsai, considered one of the great Japanese painter/caricaturists, and the creator of the first Manga. I discovered that I really loved his art!

Then, some walking, a gourmet donut, & unique snacks.

Today we headed a few blocks over to Senso-ji, the oldest temple in Tokyo, and wandered into one of the biggest shrine festivals of the year, Sanja Matsuri. Lively atmosphere, and a unique look at local culture.

We wrapped up the day with a Dominos Chiki-Teri Bento Box Pizza with Egg Custard Tart.

And some photos from earlier in the trip; at the National Museum and Hachikō, the faithful dog (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hachik%...) and the Bentendō temple.

Today was a comparatively lighter day, with a tour of the Imperial Palace grounds, a much-needed mid-day nap, and a visit up to the top of the Tokyo Skytree, the world tallest free-standing tower.

Still we managed to get in over 18,000 steps today. Who needs a gym; every day is leg day for us here!

Another fun, busy day. We started with the Tokyo National Museum, then the Bentendō temple in the middle of a lotus pond, the Shibuya Scramble Crossing, the statue of Hachiko the loyal dog, Tower Records, & the Pokémon store. I wrapped up my day with the unique experience of the hotel's public bath.

My meal companion wanted to make me feel at home during lunch, doing his best impression of how Frodo looks at me when I am eating around him.

We got to Tokyo yest. evening, & promptly collapsed for 12 hours (after little sleep on the plane).

Today, we explored Akihabara (the "nerd" shopping district) and then visited Space Travelium TeNQ (with its cool VR attraction) near the Tokyo Dome. Sushi for dinner and 20,000 steps in total today.

The adventure begins! Gwen and I have landed in Tokyo for a week of exploring the city!

Been looking forward to this for awhile!

If I have to get off the JoCo Cruise, going right to the No Kings rally in San Diego is a good option. Compassion, chanting, singing, cosplay, and support for the community at the rally, and it felt like that was exactly what we were practicing all week.

We came down to San Diego a bit early for the cruise, so I got to have a bit of fun yesterday. I tried the Midway (while Wander worked to finish homework), then we both got to have a great dinner with Spencer, Sheri, Sam, Thomas, & Marina. Next stop, a week on a NerdBoat!

Packing for the JoCo Cruise (we fly down to San Diego tonight), and wanted something to have on the TV that didn't need too much attention. I found out that Paramount+ has The Love Boat available and decided that seems like an appropriate watch to get me in the mood for the ocean life.

On Monday, I got to have a wonderful afternoon with SF tourists: my cousin LaRae, her husband, and two daughters. It was delightful meeting them & catching up with her for the first time in roughly a decade-and-a-half. It was way too short, and I'm hopeful we can continue the gabfest sometime soon.

Frodo has really gotten into the spirit of the Ides of March!
