Most of Silicon Valley seems to believe that the large scale suffering of millions of others is both a trifle, and something they are owed so they can become trillionaires
Sam Altman: We believe that the world should accept some bad things happening for the benefits of this technology. I do think the lighter touch regulatory stance we advocate for comes with an accepting of the fact that some bad things are going to happen.

Scholastic sent me a whole box of paperback copies of Sorcerer’s Stone that I sure didn't order.
When I asked why, my rep told me they're sending complimentary giveaway copies to random schools that do Book Fair.
