So many people think that the students who can't pay back their loans are going to like Vassar or Oberlin or even Harvard. In reality they're going to schools like Legends Barber College or Construction Training Center.

an unpopular (but probably secretly popular in the sense that people would complain less) opinion is state should re-appraise all property values for taxes every month, it mostly should not be based on in-person surveys, and property tax should scale 1-for-1 with values instead of the tax levy thing

I feel like handweavers are always doing 2 yards, 3 yards, etc. My current view is there's basically never a reason not to max out the length. Setting threading the loom is the most time consuming part, you might as well get your money's worth

Kind of wild the degree to which Kash smeared FBI agents today. One of them has had sex with an animal and we don't know which. Former agents are going to have blank spots on their resume and HR interviewers will be like "what's this" and they'll swear up and down they were unemployed

My mom gave me the family clocks, these are mechanical (no electricity) clocks that belonged to my ancestors, probably 1890s. They have an unusual amount of wear because while most people upgraded to electric clocks in mid-20th century, my great-grandfather's farm didn't have electric until the 70s

I think for the most part doctors, experts, professional groups are ignoring RFKjrs statements on vaccines and following old pre-RFK guidelines. But the drop in patient willingness has been massive anyway, possibly the single most effective piece of government messaging in history

Eh, this number is too high. You can get a new car for $20k, so for this amount of money you could buy a new car every 4 years. Some of this is gas but thinking about it this way should put a pretty hard cap on what insurance and maintenance could plausibly cost bsky.app/profile/pfla...
