I can't praise enough this superb analysis of #heatedrivalry. It explains very succinctly why the show resonates so widely with LGBTQI+ folks, with straight women and also many straight men, and how toxic heteronormatively poisons us all.

This was great. So happy to see mainstream Australian TV celebrating queer joy and identity

@hrnews.bsky.social This is easily the best analysis of HR that I’ve seen— it deserves to be shared widely! 🙌🙌🙌

Oh my lord. It really is 1933 in the US.
There it is. The basis of his political resentment and the core of what they all voted for.

So great to see mainstream Australian TV celebrating this incredible show — and LGBTQI+ people’s lived experiences — so enthusiastically. It’s a significant milestone

Follow the money.

If we had mainstream political journalists worth the name, they'd focus far less on the superficial race-horse politics of One Nation v LNP.

And far more on the links between Rinehart, MAGA, One Nation, Advance, IPA & other RW 'think tanks', and the global Atlas Network. #auspol

The great Catherine O’Hara. What range and deep knowing.

I never met Catherine O’Hara, but I wish I had. I would have told her what an exquisite human being she was, and how her art gave me warmth and life.
I am not exaggerating when I say Catherine O'Hara was one of the finest actors alive.
This is much shorter than she deserved, but I wrote a few words about the late, great, Catherine O'Hara.

just thinking about how Moira Rose was such a singular character in the history of television who legitimately only could have been played by Catherine O’Hara.

Ian Austin, an Army veteran, was arrested for protesting ICE in Minneapolis. But he’s continued protesting. Senior reporter @julialurie.bsky.social spoke to him.

“When they say, ‘Why would you be out here?’ How the fuck could I not be out here?” he says. “My nation is under attack."
