A good visit yesterday to Martin Mere WWT (Lancs.) despite a grey day. Hides with views over the mere with all its wild birds, and an extensive collection including a favourite of mine, the Red-fronted Goose. And Sir Peter Scott, the original founder of the Wildfowl Trust
