I will never not be annoyed that JavaScript Dates are 0-indexed for months, and 1-indexed for years and days.

So `new Date(2025, 10, 25)` makes the date 2025-11-25.

TIL that `awk` allows specifying multiple delimiters. So `awk -F'[<>]' '{print $2}'` will print what is between <>s!

I just tried to explain the difference between a "cast" and a "conversion" (e.g. in C++ `(char)65` vs `std::to_string(65)`, but not language-specific).

I... Did not have a good answer. Some guidelines. No good answer.

Does anyone have a really good introduction to WebSockets? Ideally covering "Why do we want these?" "What roughly are they?" "What do they look like in practice?"

Right now I have a bunch of resources that each provide part of the picture, but it feels like there must be a good single overview...?
