He wanted to keep his money, and the only way to do it, he thought, was to disrupt the tennis match. From his Lancaster County home, he had thumb-typed and sent the threat to the USTA.

Fig. A is how I talk now, where Fig. B was trying to approximate how I talked as a kid. I've tried to elocute more as I grew up and traveled beyond PA. (The positive "anymore" is something I've never said but plenty of family do; I say "crayon," "cauliflower," and "syrup" differently than family.)

Hard to undersell how much Dolly Parton meant to Nashville. You can’t walk two blocks here without seeing some sign or tribute. My favorite was the incomparable Dino’s Bar & Grill temporarily “changing” their name to Dolly’s with a handmade sign out front
