Back in the olden days it was only the very wealthiest of cows that could afford to have a portrait photographer visit them at home.

And some shots of new Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Andy Burnham, with supporters, friends & wife Marie-France, also from the PM changeover in Downing Street last month. Couldn't stay for the new cabinet ministers arriving later that eve, but I'll snap them at cabinet after the Parly recess.

Looks like I didn't post any pics of the PM changeover in Downing Street last month on Bluesky. Mea culpa. Here are a few - first up outgoing Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, with current cabinet ministers, supporters and wife Victoria. (plus 100+ photographers, camera crews and journos, obvs 😉)

Forgot to post these guys last week - the St James' Park #pelican chicks. They are so lovely. Quite confident & cheeky, too. They seem to have grown very fast, almost the same size as their parents now, but still in their protective grey/black down. Really enjoyed watching them.

And some more shots from the spectacular looking #Montgolfiade in Warendorf today. These are from the daytime launch of the hot air balloons in beautiful sunshine. Full pic set at Alamy Live News

A few shots from the annual #Soho Waiters' Race. Always good fun to watch and photograph.

Some more shots of the wild pink flamingos at Zwillbrocker Venn, Germany. Most of the adults will fly off to milder Dutch near-coastal waters, which don't freeze over, for the winter. The chicks will stay behind for a while until they are ready to fly, conditions this year are great for them.

Shots of the wild pink #flamingos at Zwillbrocker Venn, a wetlands nature reserve on the German-Dutch border. Adults are all ringed to track their annual migration to the Venn, where they bring up their chicks. There were 60+ adults in spring Saw the chicks as well. Large pic set @Alamy_Editorial

The now almost fully grown juvenile storks, beaks changing from grey to red. They forage for food independently now, parents sometimes join them. Many parents start to leave for their southern winter quarters in August, with the juveniles following in mixed adult-juvenile flocks a while later.

Managed to go out for a short while (all still very slow and painful after the surgery) with a camera to photograph two nearby white stork nests with mum and juveniles. They were thirsty, but looked well fed and healthy, waiting for dad to bring some juicy worms and insects. Pics at Alamy Live News.

Thought it was time for a little pic of his Royal Cuteness, the Larrmaster @number10cat.bsky.social. Here, he is sunbathing on the red carpet, ahead of the Joe Biden visit in 2023 in Downing Street, looking very relaxed. Have a lovely weekend, everyone.

Sometimes, the background in Downing Street can emphasize the general atmosphere of a shot. Here's a slightly stressed looking one of Suella Braverman (then Home Secretary) and another quite calm and collected one of James Cleverly (then Foreign Secretary). Pics at Alamy.

A Sunday throwback picture of Richard Tice, Reform UK, being interviewed in Westminster with Steve Bray @ holding up one of his placards. Brexit still wasn't worth it. It never will be. @stevebraysodem.bsky.social

Some positive pictures from Iftars I photographed in previous years. They were joyous & friendly, the majority of it was large communal meal sitting on the floor, I was invited to join. TrafSquare had small prayer areas for men & women, overall a brief element before the meal. Would love to go again

So four horses have now died at Cheltenham this year. Four too many.

Another little pic of the Larrmaster in a moment of feline cuteness and dedication to the job. Although he looks a bit like he was just caught singing in the shower in this one. 😁@number10cat.bsky.social

I'm not really a royalist, but I'd like to think that King Charles III senses that going ahead with the official visit to the United States in spring is not a good idea. I really hope they will re-consider.

Devastating to see what we are allowing a few power and money obsessed narcissists to do to this world right now. The huge number of civilian casualties inc. children, animals, infrastructure, and some irreplaceable culture, art, buildings. Time for large protests? #NotOurWar

I can't remember if I posted this one before, but here is a shot of the Larrmaster, @number10cat.bsky.social looking particularly relaxed. Still stuck in Germany with more medical stuff & major surgery piling on. 2026 not great so far, but hope to be back home in London and Downing Street soon.
