Me, moving a bee off the sidewalk and onto a nearby shrub: You're safe now, lil buddy.

A spider, probably hiding in the shrub: Yes, very safe.

The bee: For fuck's sake.

When I was an undergrad, I had the unfortunate experience of reading a classmate's sentence. It has remained with me all these years and every now and then, I like to remind my friends of its cursed nature.

"She licked him like she was trying to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop."

As always, I have to wonder, are the people at Oreo okay?

I'm a pacifist until I see a couple holding hands in the grocery store and blocking the aisle.

You ever nap so hard you forget you have a family? Woke up to the door being unlocked and panicked.

So excited to have a story out with @dishsoapquart.bsky.social Like most things I write, this was born from a family conversation, in particular, one I had with my very logical and sentimental uncle.
Wonderfully grounded, dreamy piece up this week about, well, dreams. Sink into "Waiting on a Dream" from @imbutashadow.bsky.social

My latest story "Essential" is now available in After Happy Hour Review's print issue #5. It received an honorable mention in their Work and Labor Contest. You can listen to an excerpt of it online where I try my best not to breathe loudly and then fail.

I can always count on my mother to go along with my bullshit.

(I did get into a fight with a bird though.)

Living with your sibling as an adult is very similar to when you were a child, except instead of running away to avoid getting beat up when you piss her off, you are both too tired so the beating is psychological.

Converse making their platform shoes even platformier is like Oreos making quadruple MEGA stuf when nobody asked for it.

Honored to have a piece out in Prime Number Magazine. This story has a special place in my heart and I'm so glad it can be shared with everyone. Special thanks to Kevin Morgan Watson, their fairy godmother editor, for making dreams come true.

Overheard the First Born watching Prince of Egypt and just ran/slid across the apartment in my socks so I could yell "By the Power of Ra" at her.

Just once I'd like to wake up without feeling like I've isekaied into a body out to get me.

A Level 2 adult told me (Level 3) I have young vibes and I know it was meant as a compliment, but I didn't hit my thirties and suddenly there were talks about sending me to a farm upstate.

It was 28°C yesterday and today it is full on snowing. Even the weather can't shake its seasonal depression.

Nothing like a rainy day, a good cup of tea and blasting Linkin Park throughout the apartment.

How do people just walk down stairs without looking?
January 19, 2026 at 5:09 PM
First dates should happen at a grocery store. You can eliminate so many people early on just watching how they shop for items, if they know what said item even is, etc. Beats having to find out they were incompetent later on.

Someone just called it a "toy plane built to scale." The flight attendants are going down the aisle sideways.
