This War of Mine: Stories Review

This War of Mine: Stories
Open-ended game mechanics don’t usually work very well when constrained to a story they weren’t built for.

The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks
If Spirit Tracks was going to make a good impression, it had to put in a lot more work than usual.

LONESTAR Review

Kind of an unusual one because this is a game I discovered through my own Custom Steam Recommendations app.

LONESTAR
If you told me that LONESTAR was designed to appeal to me specifically, I’d believe you.

Pokémon Champions
The emphasis in Pokémon Champions is absolutely on the official competitive format.

Just finished a major update for my Custom Steam Recommendations app, with massively improved load times, a more accurate recommendation algorithm, and the ability to filter out Early Access games!

LostWinds 2: Winter of the Melodias Review
www.imlgames.com/lostwinds-2-...
LostWinds 2: Winter of the Melodias
The main thing holding back Winter of the Melodias is that it’s very clearly the second installment of a series that was intended to be treated episodically.

Oxenfree Review
www.imlgames.com/oxenfree/
Oxenfree - Infinite Monkey Labs
There’s a perfectly serviceable narrative experience within Oxenfree, but in its current state, the emotions it evokes are all tempered by a sense of bewilderment.

Cassette Beasts - Infinite Monkey Labs
It’s both somewhat unfair and completely accurate to call Cassette Beasts a Pokémon clone.

Electrician Simulator Review

Electrician Simulator
The decision to heavily restrict player actions in what could have been an open-ended environment for consequence-free experimentation is mystifying to me.

Loop Hero
Roguelikes can lay claim to some of the most creative titles of the last 15 years, including Loop Hero.

SOMA Review
www.imlgames.com/soma/
SOMA
SOMA isn't as frightening as Amnesia: The Dark Descent, but that metric isn't measured on a linear scale.

Sid Meier's Civilization: Beyond Earth - Rising Tide
Rising Tide is the first Civ expansion I’ve played that makes its host game worse overall.

TOEM: A Photo Adventure Review
www.imlgames.com/toem-a-photo...
TOEM: A Photo Adventure
TOEM is seemingly the result of a lab experiment to create the coziest cozy game that isn’t a life sim of some kind.

Sunset Overdrive Review

Sunset Overdrive
Sunset Overdrive is essentially a Ratchet & Clank game mixed with Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater and, more unfortunately, Borderlands.

Prey: Mooncrash - Infinite Monkey Labs
While I’m a huge fan of Prey, I’ll be the first to admit that it is not a good fit for a roguelike adaptation.
