Dr. Teresa Iturriaga is an incredible resource, and one-of-a-kind! We are so lucky to have her.

Also, I didn't know CUP had over 400k fungal specimens!

I’m heartbroken to hear of the passing of my friend Gloria Steinem.

I was fortunate to know her well over the years. Through decades of advocacy, she never stopped fighting for a better, more equal society.

My heart is with her loved ones and everyone she inspired.

"AI" is computing, not intelligence.

Even critics of the tech seem to have had their brains washed by the marketing hype. "AI" is a marketing term, it not an accurate descriptor of what LLMs do, which is make statistical guesses.

This is in the Atlantic, the editor-in-chief of which was an IDF prison guard. The Atlantic is also billionaire-owned by Laurene Powell Jobs and is a mouthpiece for billionaire-acceptible views.

It was started as an abolitionist magazine, and now it is the opposite of that.

Had a blast learning about what other #Potato #Science is going on in the US, glad @papinaani.bsky.social and I were able to attend! The speed mentoring sessions they did for #ECRs this year was especially valuable, really grateful for the opportunity.

Scan your local news today. How many stories are about something climate change is making worse...without saying so?

I counted 8 of those in my feed today, vs just 1 that named climate change directly.

Why does this matter? Research shows that making this connection changes how people see it.
