The best argument in favor of the Dvorak extension at the time was “the market for centers this summer is so barren that the market might well decide he’s worth that contract if you don’t give it to him.”
Doesn’t necessarily mean he *is* worth that, but if 34-y/o Charlie Coyle is getting 6x$6M…

My other takeaway here is that the Flyers are absolutely scared of some team looking at the wasteland that is next summer’s free agency pool and throwing a ton of money at Dvorak, but man, if this is what it took to prevent that … i dunno.

You just want a fair shot. You can't expect perfect refereeing but you want it to be fair. The Hurricanes are getting away with interference constantly and the refs are inventing calls against the Flyers. I don't even know what to say

It's clear the hockey gods want the Canes to win after 2 of their goals have bounced off the post, off Vladar and in, but the referees have done their part to gift this game to the Canes. So much BS special teams time that naturally goes the Canes' way. The Flyers need a better PP and PO but come on

I love Tyson Foerster; I think he's a 1st-line caliber player at his best and he'll be a key piece going forward... But he just doesn't have it right now. Maybe he's hit a wall with the adrenaline wearing off after coming back from the injury. But he can't be on the PP right now and needs fewer mins

If Michkov is scratched tonight, for one game? I get it. He hasn't looked great and could benefit from a reset. He just better get back in the next game, and I hope for everyone's sake he looks better when he does

I've been the first person to be critical of Tocchet this year. But, when a coach implements all of the changes fans saw were needed AND it goes well, he deserves credit for implementing it. Not only did he move Z to C and Mich to RW, he adjusted the system to help it succeed. Credit where it's due
