Being a medical anomaly is kinda fun, like when I get to tell my doctor that with the three separate meds that I'm on, all with a side effect of increasing blood pressure, my blood pressure dropped to the very bottom of the "being alive" scale. I guess I'll start wearing hoodies.

Woo, I expanded my Czech vocabulary tenfold in one day :). I initially went with Czech audio and English subs, but that sucked cause VA's speak fast, so went with both audio and text. I am having a blast, it's been ages since I learned a new language.

I have some downtime, so I figured I'll finally finish Kingdom Come: Deliverance. But, I thought, since my Czech is very basic, might as well play the whole game in it, and learned as I go. I learned English that way, after all!

Just saw the trailer for The Uprising and here's yet another medieval set film that's all drab and grey and caked in dirt. And I've already seen multiple architectural blunders weeeeeeee

Meanwhile, the contemporary depiction of the event:

I suppose it's time to remember I have social media and post something into the void. Oh the struggles of a very introverted person, right? Aight, here it goes:

It's a weather we're havin' today, innit?

Phew, that was intense.

Oh right, I have social media account. Can't fathom how does anyone manage to keep these things running. I'll probably start engaging more when I have less work, but then again, maybe not

I'm down with the autumn flu, which is not that bad except I can't breathe. On the upside, I started playing Pathfinder: Wrath Of The Righteous, and damn that game really is as long as its title. Very fun, however.

Seeing how often I realize I know stuff about various niche topics when digging into folklore - thanks to generational verbal transition mostly, I'm starting to consider if I shouldn't write my "lore" down for the kids to read someday. I'd tell them, but kids these days...

Today I found out about the existence of a piculet and my life is better off for it. The most adorable birb I swear.

Biggest let down of the day: the "go-away-bird" species' are called so because of their vocalizations, not because they want to know if you have any games on the phone. Pity.

Gah, I need a search engine extension eliminating ai results from queries, filtering through the garbage for hours daily is infuriating. Gotta take the time to migrate search engines finally.

There is so much woo about robins, holy crap. Rare case where even I cannot dig to the bottom of the mental compost pile to even begin to untangle thins clusterfuck.
For a bird whose greatest accomplishment is chirping, it sure has a lot of fanfiction.

Ok, honestly this is the funniest thing I stumbled onto today:

Turns out peacocks actively chase snakes peck them to death and eat them, and it's all fine and dandy, but when I do it they tell me to leave the zoo before they call the police. Double standards, I say!

I wondered who the hell names a bird "nightjar" and then I saw the picture. Yeah, that guy's a nightjar.

While gathering intel on lyrebirds I was let down by humanity, truly disappointed. All these years and nobody taught a lyrebird the "becky lemme smash" video? Seriously? What are we even doing as a species...

I think it says a lot about us that one of Poland's earliest modern scifi is about a wedding where everyone wished the newlyweds happiness and peace so hard, they caused a nuclear winter.

When I tell people in Finland that the country has a really nice weather by my standard they make surprised faces at me. They don't realize that where I'm from the weather is like the intro to Avatar: the Last Air Bender fast forwarded on repeat.

Beeon out on vacation, now I'm back :). Also, finally solved a very cool mechanic for a game I'm working on, good day overall.

The Kickstarter campaign ended yesterday.

Today, I:
- finished up the layout for yet-unannounced game we're making
- watched 5 hours of ADHD interviews / advice
- ate *lots* of freshly baked sourdough bread
- did laundry
- stared at rain outside
- read a book instead of writing one

Good day so far

One good thing about google's enshitification are the absurd rabbit holes one might fall into when not paying attention. For example, I just realized that I'm researching how in Greek mythology a kingfisher was turned into a Russian folk-metal band. Turns out I forgot to input -ai into querries.
