been seeing people use AI to port old games to weird contemporary consoles and I don't really get it?
like. Super Mario Galaxy on PS2. a comically stupid idea. but if it was a human doing it i'd be inclined to laugh and have respect. when it's Claude doing it it kind of just remains stupid, no?

it's also weird to me because the appeal has always been a mixture of "wow this is cool" and "some madman did it"
now the cool factor is heavily diminished because there are so many of these now, and it's not like there's any real technical skill behind any of them

Few things to remember about the Cartoon Network production art leak:
1) I doubt many artists are upset. Most of them are probably happy that people can finally see their work. Can't speak for everyone, obviously, but... likely.
There are probably a few artists who can update portfolios now.

To put this in perspective chestnut trees used to be dominant species in the United States. Billions of trees were killed by fungal blight and now fully grown America chestnuts are functionally extinct. There is no getting them back. Ever. All for a data center.

An important corollary to the Surf Dracula tweet that I think should be talked about more, now that we're basically inundated with these types of shows, is that most of them don't get renewed, but even the ones that are don't turn into the weekly adventures of Surf Dracula in the second season.
