This year, Austin basically had 10 straight weeks of ~100°F highs every day and ~zero rain. I guess you could maybe argue it cooled very slightly last week.

A certain type of conservative used to, and probably still does, go around ominously dropping the abbreviation "CCP" into otherwise normal conversations as if everyone would know what they meant
I've been thinking about this photo all day. Considering how the Trump administration is constantly ranting about Communists, and how Pete Hegseth is always nattering on about our WARFIGHTERS, it's genuinely crazy to me that this image exists.

Conservatives I think do generally imagine that written law is simple, straightforward, uncontradictory, neutral and fair, plus that deviations from the spirit of that written law by law enforcement are rare and random, all of which is of course absurd, but also this man is a Supreme Court justice
It’s a mistake to think Kavanaugh is uniquely ignorant. I grew up in a mostly white, upper-middle class suburb and that belief in the fairness of the letter of the law is/was* nearly universal.

There have been lots of malevolent Supreme Court justices, but there's not really a precedent for a Supreme Court justice who is as *dumb* as Brett Kavanaugh. A complete rube. Shows his ass every time he tries to write down more than two sentences of original thought.
