The feature set I'm most excited about, much more than multiplayer, is localization and translation! Still a few things to work out but really close on this. Not just stories but Choosatron local interface and the web interface.

Writing software we test test test test test. A contractor comes into your home, destroys part of it, slaps something new together and leaves. You immediately find that the most basic things don't work, couldn't have been tested even once! (Apologies to competent contractors but like where are you?)

Question: if every child says "animal" before saying "animal", maybe they're right? Why are we forcing this issue? #teamaminal

The main way in which AI has negatively impacted games industry jobs is not through actual automation of those jobs or even untrue claims about automation. It's by making capital unavailable because it's tied up in AI investments while also destroying the consumer base for video game hardware.

I'm definitely NOT celebrating that someone is alive. That's ok right? It's Mitch McConnell.

I don't celebrate their death, I'm just glad they can't continue making the world worse. I guess I'll just keep posting this message as they fall. (But also, 🎉)

It must be hard to be an executive, having to live up to unsustainable infinite growth which turns into a cycle of copy pasted "hundreds of you are going to be real sad when you read this". Between the shareholder boot licking & having to make sure to change the project or studio name in the memo...

If I had a superpower it would be knowing the story behind arbitrary objects. Like why was there a new set of windshield wipers sitting on top a garbage by the tram station? Or an unopened banana sitting on top a perfectly trimmed hedge? I need to know!

Happy to see the Cosmo installation I worked on like 16 years ago is still going strong!

That horrifying moment when traveling and you realize it's the first time you've pooped outside your house in like six months because the uncivilized world outside doesn't have a bidet on the toilet!

Been a whiiiiile since I've put together a slide deck. I hate making slides, but it was nice remembering I used to have a process and it actually works. Still wish I had more time to practice but cheats should get me through the pitch! Back in the saddle!

It's been pointed out to me that a lot of my game design is very hostile towards the players. Ghost Dentist (self dentistry VR), escape room in HoL 2 (trapping & misleading), even my actual escape room Utopia (normal ending is a loss, plus you can burn alive).

To that I say, have you met players?

I find a lot of YouTube videos exhausting because evidently editing style over the years has 'evolved' into any pauses being unacceptable. If there's a pause, you cut! And of course the awful 'cheeky' cut zoom often multiple times like the YouTuber is giving you an aside.

A still from an old home movie at least 45+ years ago I was watching. I believe this means I die in seven days, no?

Reading The Raw Shark Texts & it, like many other stores/media, brings up the "every 7 years all your cells have been replaced" trope which I've resisted looking up because I like being a Ship of Theseus... & assumed it was less than true. Sadly I caved & it is wildly inaccurate as I feared. :(

The beginning of a month off. Organize a lot of digital life, and took a box of deprecated microcontroller and gave them new life with CircuitPython. Should be fun for some quick turnaround tinkering!

It's incredible how many people are using approximation functions as therapists. It's absolutely unsurprising how poorly this is turning out.
