Update: they were from Turning Point. One older guy (who I assume was already registered to vote) was chatting with them as I passed by again.

I can't believe a 22-year-old college football player would have an immature misogynistic sense of humor.

Saw a handful of (I assume) college Republicans this morning manning a voter registration table that included a sign that read "Charlie wants you to register to vote" and had a picture of Charlie Kirk. Wonder if anyone actually stopped for them.

Last year’s Rosh Hashanah cake vs this year’s. No idea what I did wrong this time, but least it still tastes good!

This job calls for a banally evil guy who got promoted simply because he happened to be standing in the right room at the right time. Please welcome new defense correspondent
Admiral Piett.
“Which Star Wars character would be picked by Bari Weiss to be a new 60 Minutes correspondent?” I mutter to myself. My assembled family cries and the doctor shakes his head and writes “Bluesky poisoning” on the chart.

You know, I was thinking about the Spear-Danes again, and their kings, and all the great things they did. Shilly – that’s Scyld Scefing – used to win so many battles.

If Melville were alive today he'd be writing 20,000-word recaps of all his favorite shows.

How much overlap is there between the “politicians will pander to me if I announce I won’t vote for them” people and the “Democratic candidates actually want to lose because they can more donations that way” people?

"The Muppets destroy the world" would be a good premise for a show.
*last minute cramming for my big test on Today’s News* No one can agree on what to do with AI and within 10 years The Muppets could kill us all
September 10, 2026 at 9:32 PM
Make it meta: The Muppets are a group of wacky actors who've been signed to a Hollywood deal, but the studio can't figure out what to do with them, so each week they try out a new premise and hijinks ensue. Big name studio execs can even have cameos!
There are currently no active conversations for a full ‘MUPPET SHOW’ series revival.

Disney, The Muppets Studio and Point Grey Pictures have had difficulties with deciding on a premise for the series that they can all agree on.

But what do white Long Island Boomers think of him?
New York City registered voters give Mayor Zohran Mamdani high job approval ratings, and the vast majority say the democratic socialist is doing better as mayor than they expected, according to a new poll.

A new Suffolk University poll also finds New York voters disagree with GOP calls for Mayor Zohran Mamdani to stay away from 9/11 memorial.

I would never let something so crass as "what people actually want to see" influence what I post, but obviously influencers (like legacy media) are going to have different standards.
It takes you 20 paragraphs to get to the part of the article where they admit that Mamdani isn't paying the influencers and the reason they are posting videos of the stuff Mamdani is doing is because people are interested in watching it.

I suspect they also used AI to come up with the menu. The vibe is very much “make me a menu that includes some Jewish foods and some fall foods”.
Just. WHY would you advertise your catering with all AI-generated images? The food look like rubber!
