Thank you @calacademy.bsky.social for hosting the 30x30 Summit. We are on track to conserving 30% of state lands and coastal waters by 2030 despite federal attempts to undo our progress, and projects like Golden Gate Fields will ensure conservation of vital ecosystems in urban areas.

While the rainy season is still a couple months away, Oakland is getting ready now for increased risk of flooding due to the historically strong El Niño. Last week, the Governor proclaimed a state of emergency over El Niño to ensure the state is prepared for severe weather.

Proud to have authored this new law that will give essential utility workers the protections they deserve. No one should have to go to work fearing assault or worse, and SB 1330 provides those protections.

Today Governor Newsom signed my Senate Bill 1218, which will help to hold illegal dumpers accountable by giving cities the ability to put boots on cars registered to dumpers. I'm thankful for Mayor Barbara Lee's partnership and those who came to Sacramento to support us, including testimonies 1/2

Security corporations are offering a measly wage increase for workers, while they rake in billions. I stand with SEIU-USWW security officers’ demands for living wages, better training, better benefits and a workplace free from unfair labor practices. Whatever it takes.

I joined Assemblymember Matt Haney, Senator Scott Wiener, SF Mayor Daniel Lurie, and SF City Attorney David Chiu to advocate for AB 1294 which I coauthored. If signed by the Governor, this will deliver needed affordable workforce housing to Bay Area workers and residents.
