Very normal response!
Part of me wants to tear the OP limb from limb.
Do you remember when Biden won in 2020 and he spent four years legislating to protect minorities, secured the right to abortion, and dismantled all of the detention camps?

It was such a wonderful time, cannot believe trans people specifically want to prevent the Dems from doing this tbh.

Oh man, the Lib Dems really do be like that sometimes
🚨 NEW: The Lib Dems have called for Andy Burnham to create an "emergency register" for civilians to voluntarily sign up for war

Talking domestic politics for a sec. Tell me if I am mad. But if I were Burnham, I would announce an incredibly populist tax and spendy budget with huge incentives for the electorate – say it would require tax rises on the wealthiest – and then announce a GE off the back of it to legitimise it?
things can only get worse with a northern accent

Ben-Gvir: “If we get the Palestinians out of Gaza, that means more lives for us.

“And then Gaza can become a real-estate arena. It can become a beautiful coastal gem.

“Settlements need to be built there. A lot of things need to be done there.”

Genuinely not taking a position in this particular debate. But this disproportionate focus on how certain trans people are telling you they feel they can vote is nothing to do with winning an election.

When you are on the doorstep and someone tells you they are not voting for your candidate it's an absolute waste of everyone's time to stand there and debate them. You move on and focus on turning out your supporters, and persuading the genuinely undecided.

The doorstep debate is only about ego.

Anyway, the reason people shout at trans people about who they vote for – rather than candidates, or actually significant chunks of the electorate – is because we are people you can easily punch down at. It's that simple. It's purely a power exercise, and feeling like you are doing something useful.

Also don't think we talk enough about Gen Zers like me who are estranged from their parents but still having to negotiate the same economic conditions which have forced my peers to live at home.
Here's a chart from the post.... quite a change in a single generation.

Don't worry, it's not just for racism. They also use it to justify banning trans people from the loo!
A short thread on “legitimate concerns”. The phrase is used repeatedly by UK government ministers. The Home Secretary is at it again this week. But only ever - as far as I can tell - in one context: people’s response to the arrival of asylum seekers.

Please read whole 🧵before responding - thanks

Tbh, 20 year old me feels more like a character I read about in a book than a person I ever actually was. Think they would mostly be surprised that I am still here.
Would 20 y/o you be impressed or disappointed by you today?

PS – every time a Dem makes an ad like this, it actually increases the chances of Republicans winning across the State, because it increases the salience of their batshit talking points.

So, if you don't want Republicans to win, I would probably do something about these kinds of people.

I think, like many trans people, I would just like to hear the genuine plan from US liberals to prevent this proliferating throughout the Democratic Party.

Because once you get to where things are here in the UK, it's very hard to get back.
Holy shit.

Marcy Kaptur becomes the latest Dem to release an anti-trans ad, and its worse than all the rest combined.

"I voted WITH Republicans to keep transgender ideology out of schools, and let me be clear, boys should NOT play in girls sports."

This is getting out of control.

Just want people to know. I have been really sick on and off the last few weeks. Worse than I have been in a long time. Am struggling with work – it doesn't stop because I am sick. And am struggling generally to do life things (like eat). Know I am currently a bad friend, and campaigner – sorry.

My crack habit is very manageable and healthy actually, says crack addict
Can social media be addictive?

@taylorlorenz.bsky.social says no.

“You wanting to communicate and chat with your friends every day is not an addiction,” says Lorenz. “And to frame it that way is incredibly harmful and anti-science.”
