Have you ever responded to a friend or loveed one's complaint with "that's just the way I am?" Next time ask yourself - is this actually a character trait, or is it just a coping mechanism I picked up a long time ago?

That saying "when people show you who they are, believe them"? My problem is I show people exactly who I am and they never seem to believe me...they just see whatever they want to project onto me.

There are still women romanticizing Nick from Handmaids Tale? Really? That dude would be an ICE recruit if he were living in our real world right now.

Folks do realize that feeling sad or guilty isn't actually a consequence right? Especially if you also got everything you ever wanted?

Y'all sure do love to infantilize pretty white women...

step 1 - recognize something you said is problematic. step 2 - realize you say problematic things because of your childhood trauma. step 3 - learn to apply a filter and catch those problematic words BEFORE they come out of your mouth and become someone else's trauma.

Mass civil resistance. Chicago knows how to do it. They're teaching Portland. And beyond. New resistance strategies emerge organically. So be open to new ideas. Be adaptive. Build a whistle brigade. Here's how:
You need to hear what Chicago is doing to fight back against ICE. And then copy it.

Cost to fund SNAP and keep 42 million people from starving:

$100 billion

Cost of lost revenue due to tax cuts for the richest Americans in the top 1%:

$100 billion

One is decried as "welfare." One is not.

Why?

I have been charged in a federal indictment sought by the Department of Justice.

This political prosecution is an attack on all of our First Amendment rights. I’m not backing down, and we’re going to win.

The romanticizing of toxic men in TV shows really concerns me...manipulative, controlling, insecure dudes that fans will make every excuse for.

ICE has erected a gate to keep protesters out. They are blocking a public street, despite the Broadview Fire Department ordering ICE to tear it down.

Join us at 1930 Beach Street. 7-9 AM. Tell Broadview to tear this fence down.

Let me get this straight. They are "honoring" a man who loved free speech by....attacking free speech? Between that and declaring a leaderless, decentralized and largely non-violent movement as a terrorist organization, it's been a hell of a week for destroying democracy.

Yall crashing out about the 2ndary ticket market scooping up Ari tickets - I worked in that industry when I was young & broke. They're economic parasites, & every "ticket broker" I ever met was a sleazy scumbag - like a combo of the worst stereotypes of a used car salesman & a finance bro...

The latest Conjuring movie is BAD, but it's reminded me that most people don't know that the Warren's were con artists, and not the sweet couple portrayed in those movies:

CDC quietly stopped checking food supply for 6 pathogens (campylobacter, cyclospora, listeria, shigella, vibrio and yersenia) about two months ago, leaving everyone more vulnerable.

Less food surveillance = less food safety.

If you want to be my friend, pro tip - I value bluntness and transparency above all else. My favorite people are the ones where I never have to second guess what they say to me. I dont need to interpret or read between the lines, because they just say what they mean.
