Made another batch of these little experimental mixed media pieces before DragonCon. This group inspired by species from Cornwall with collage bits from old books I got in a local shop while there. I love making these as a palette cleanser between bigger projects.

“Magpie Study (Two for Joy)” finished just in time to bring to Dragon Con! Saw so many of these guys in Cornwall, where we learned to “salute the magpie” to counteract any bad luck from seeing a single magpie. At first we took it quite literally, we started giving them a military salute.

“The Lovers,” watercolor. I painted this piece in the flat in Cornwall earlier this year, based on my photos of the Glastonbury Abbey ruins, a possible legendary burial place of Arthur and Guinevere. Some legends say that upon his death, Arthur transformed into either a raven or a Cornish chough.

Looking for artist reviews of the Canon Pro-1100 printer? My Pro-1000 just broke after a good 7 years but the model is discontinued. Looks like the 1100 is the replacement.
