As of today, both the House and Senate have passed this idiotic bill. It now heads to the president's desk.
I don’t know how you could look at Donald Trump’s record to date and think it’s a good idea to give him more power to levy tariffs. But that’s exactly what the Senate is poised to do, on a bipartisan basis, in a bill coming up for a vote today

Over the last couple of days we have got several polls of Dems leading by double digits in the national environment, and ahead in states and districts Trump won by 15+ points. Starting to get hard to deny that Nov could very likely be a bloodbath for the GOP

The Government is unlikely to succeed on the merits of its challenge to the District Court's preliminary injunction. And the equitable factors applicable for obtaining emergency relief from this Court do not favor a stay.

In my view, based on the briefing the Court has received at this interim stage, there is at least a fair prospect that the final rule falls within the Postal Service's statutory authority. See 39 U. S. C. §401(2). But applying the rule in the 2026 elections would be arbitrary and capricious in violation of the Administrative Procedure Act because state and local election officials do not have sufficient time to reasonably implement the rule before the elections. See 39

Saying AI is real and powerful and unlikely to go anywhere isn’t making a moral argument for it. In fact my point is, as I said earlier today, that we have to make our decisions about how to act morally in the context of a world in which AI simply exists, is powerful and isn’t going anywhere.
