I find driver nationalities to be a Netflix-brained way of looking at motorsport politics. Like, the converse of this point is that American racing series (discounting stock cars, which only Americans do at all) are so good that competition for seats is international.

I find driver nationalities to be a Netflix-brained way of looking at motorsport politics. Like, the converse of this point is that American racing series (discounting stock cars, which only Americans do at all) are so good that competition for seats is international.
Here’s the problem with this argument: The paying backmarkers aren’t just running around harmlessly at the back. They’re ruining races on a regular basis.

Dude, Kostecki says the Fords were prone to overheating at The Bend because the Mustang front end airflow design was such that the car was inhaling pulverized wet tire rubber/dust the whole stint

Yes, we all believe you that you planned this transition for a couple races after the summer break in the middle of your first season with a factory team. Very good planning yall did on that.
