hope you enjoy my forthcoming iPhone Duo app, Hot Dog Bun, that looks like a hot dog bun and lets you apply condiments so you can eat a hot dog out of the Duo. The front screen means that you can even make a proper Chicago Dog since you can correctly portray the poppyseed bun

from my small son, transcribed in real-time:

because what if a virus gets in your computer
and it deletes everything
and your computer falls apart
and our whole house too
and your own body falls apart
everything could fall apart

for secret reasons, I was thinking about TextDrive/Joyent/Dean Allen/etc, and re-found this on @archive.org: web.archive.org/web/20020721...

Which made me think a lot about that very particular early online McSweeney's/Arts & Letters Daily/etc aesthetic.

Anyways, I'm still thinking about it.

We couldn’t believe our ears, we wouldn’t have believed it, but Matt assured us that he heard it too. Forty-five years ago. This afternoon, Si pointed me to the Internet Archive bootleg page:

I have no problem with this (it's a reshipper that I used 3.5 years ago IIRC) but I just like the phrasing of the subject line

I had an extremely weird experience yesterday, which is that I woke up with an absolute conviction that it was the superbowl. Like, I planned my day around avoiding places that were going to be potentially crowded, and said aloud to at least one person that I was avoiding the superbowl? ???

Publishers say they’re blocking the Internet Archive because of AI scraping. But shutting out a nonprofit library won’t stop AI—it will damage the public’s best record of the web.

Took the kid to the Lego bulk bins today and he found maybe the two creepiest BeatBits tiles. He's now made a "television" that he's using to identify where in the house ghosts may be haunting doors.

Don't trust these companies to do right by any films, but especially radical ones. Preservation is important. Art and media that challenges the status quo too often appears to be forgotten on purpose by those who have the power to make those decisions.
