Honored to be part of this groundbreaking box of Pre J-Horror greats from @imprintfilms.bsky.social – this is where all the magic was born.

Before Hideo Nakata and Hiroshi Takahashi made Ring, there was DON'T LOOK UP – now available for the first time on English discs, and w/ my audio commentary 😁
Me, feeling spatula'd out of bed like a looney toons character: WELL NO WONDER

Man, it feels like everything's a fire sale before oblivion right now.
Sony and Columbia apparently selling off their archive.

If you want to watch your favorite horror films like you've never seen them before, you owe it to yourself to watch @factionman.bsky.social's thrilling experiment FAMILY GO TO THE BAD HOUSE–which stitches shots from 387 total features into a single terrifying story. Thoughts on @cinapse.bsky.social!

If there was ever a film to watch in 4K (or even 8K)
***ANNOUNCEMENT***

Coming on December 1st on #4K/Blu-ray dual format in the US from #WarnerArchive: #DoctorZhivago (1965)!

A peerless filmmaker of substance and scale, David Lean directs Boris Pasternak’s tumultuous tale of Russia divided by war and heart, torn by love. Epic images abound:

this is concerning enough that I'm going to ask about this or similar policies/practices before agreeing to speak to ANY journalist on or off the record. if you can't promise me in writing that this isn't happening, that's the end of the conversation.
I emailed top USA Today editors on Friday, in the hopes that there was some misunderstanding. No response. Unilaterally feeding entire interviews into an AI slop machine is not OK. It has to stop.
If USA Today is indeed unilaterally putting source interviews in some sort of database, in their entirety, allowing them to be cherry-picked by other reporters—and *AI*(!!)—that is journalistically indefensible and no one should ever talk to them again. Is this true? Is it Gannett wide?

Time’s flying. First episode I worked on of The Leftovers (201) as a bright-eyed young PA aired 11 years ago today.

I’d missed this: Annie Altman, Sam Altman’s sister who alleges in civil lawsuits that he sexually abused her repeatedly — starting when she was 3 years old — uploaded the first hour of her deposition to Instagram (and YouTube) this weekend. It has about 38k likes.

Hey horror friends, I hope you’ll give me a few minutes for a non-horror-related good cause. In my other life I’m a playwright, and I founded Desert Playwrights’ Retreat, a fully-funded all-expenses-paid writing retreat for LGBTQ playwrights. We fly writers in from all over the country…

This new career-spanning interview with Koji Shiraishi is an essential watch from the folks at @jumpscarecast.bsky.social!

And they break the news that we’re likely getting his next film next Summer!!

Too many times this tactic is brought up by those who could reasonably offer, have, and walk out of this pie in the sky lunch without any threat to their safety or well-being.

Civility shouldn’t be required toward people who actively hurt/endorse harm to myself or people I care about.
The best cure for ideological bias is find someone on the other side and go to lunch with them.⁣

Love to learn in the opening credits to this Aileen Wuornos documentary that it used “advanced generative VFX,” which is apparently what we’re calling AI when saying AI would cause the audience to ask which parts of the documentary were made up.

Never stop saying this!
More horror movies should be as good as Noroi: The Curse. Many people are saying it.

I reviewed the weird, lightning-quick, and exhilarating THE RIVALS OF AMZIAH KING, which hits even when it gets a little corny. This movie's got cast-iron balls.

Time for a reminder that GLASGOW was absolutely robbed of an Oscar, and that there should be a Karaoke version readily available at all places because I will absolutely crush it www.youtube.com/watch?v=E-l-...
