I just read this terrific collection of essays on early modern maternity around the Spanish Atlantic edited by Emily Colbert Cairns and Nieves Romero-Diaz - very fresh and interesting work here of wide interest. Kudos!

On 9/11, hundreds of boxes of historical artifacts from New York's African Burial Ground and Five Points were in Sherrill Wilson's research lab at 6 World Trade Center.

Anyone here familiar with the parliamentary archives of Toulouse? I have a peeved Venetian who claims he entered some letters into the parliamentary registers/archives in 1613. Guessing this would now be in the Departmental Archives of Haute-Garonne, but am totally unfamiliar with 🇫🇷 #earlymodern 🗃️

Today's the anniversary of the Nazis executing Marc Bloch. Or, someone who could sit with uncertainty, champion inquiry & trying to understand, and recognise plurality & perplexity. And, in that knowledge, made the choice not to remain passive.
