my best friend worked at University of Mississippi at the time when nearly the entire faculty and student body was demanding the Confederate statue at the entrance be taken down

but it wasn’t, because apparently the answer to Mike’s question is “a handful of very rich football families”
As I’ve asked many times now, what constituencies does a university president represent? Because too often, the answer seems to not include anyone who works or studies at the university, and that seems like a problem.

Lost time. Lost jobs. Lost friends. Lost family. Lost lives. Our joint investigation reveals the system that has divided the West Bank and measures what it cost people to move through it.

Nobody is going to want to hear this, but a real risk we face, no matter who is president next, is that they will see no need to restore the rights lost or the executive power stolen in the last 10 years.
Hey its fucking wierd more of the dems platform isnt "we will give you abortion rights back"

There are general safety precepts that can be applied to AI as much as to handling plutonium. I've been kind of wondering why @funranium hasn't said much about this.

The details are outside my experience, but the precepts seem to be unknown to those doing the experiments.

i’m sorry but this entire worldview seems not just evil but deeply stupid? the far future is fake! it doesn’t exist! what matters are people here and now!

Not only did I meet Robert Kraft, I worked for him.

His kid Jonathan asked me to “remove the black music” from my gameday playlist in ‘94 & I refused so they fired me. I was the cheerleader director at the time.

I sued them for wrongful termination and won.

So yes, I know that motherfucker.
Did you ever meet Bob Kraft?

KAEPERNICK: The part that I hope people take away in this moment is what Robert Kraft and what they’re saying by denying Macklemore is they are openly colluding.

They also want people to know that if you take an action that they don’t agree with, they will come for you.

Did not realize Sheeran's *backing band* dropped out bsky.app/profile/erin...
Beoga is his backing band, not an opener. I believe every musician save himself has exited his North American tour over this. I hope they all gain support.*

* i know Finneas is doing fine, but the rest.

Unlike Macklemore, these support acts don’t have big followings and they are giving up their chance to perform to stadiums to push back against censorship, not of themselves but of a fellow artist. Respect.
The Irish musicians, Beoga, who play alongside Ed Sheeran, have withdrawn from Sheeran’s tour.

This is the statement they published on Instagram:

One of the coolest things about people who don't have a lot of power taking a principled stand is it lays bare the complete cowardice of the ones who actually *do* have power when they fail to do even a fraction as much.

Holy ish.
New: Macklemore says Robert Kraft — who owns Gillette Stadium, where Macklemore & Ed Sheeran were to perform later this month — called Sheeran.

Kraft rallied other owners together behind an ultimatum for Sheeran: if Macklemore stays on the tour, you won't be allowed in our venues.
