Missing from this otherwise excellent overview is the fact that the Russian government has mandated the storage of Russian data on Russian servers, meaning that these Russian Internet companies cannot avail themselves of hosting abroad beyond the reach of Ukrainian drones.

300 millions de dollars en 2024 pour s'acheter un putsch numérique maquillé en ministère dans l'administration Trump, et un nouveau chèque de 275 millions deux ans plus tard pour assurer la pérennité du régime technofasciste avant les midterms.

Facile, la politique US à l'ère kleptocratique.

You can't keep using tech platforms run & eidted by authoritarians and expect to combat fascism: "From leaders and policymakers, it means starting to plan your exit from current social media by building up a following elsewhere."
The authoritarians are winning, we can all see that. Maybe, just maybe, it wouldn't be the worst thing if pro-democracy people stopped being ridiculously naive about social media.

Somehow not everyone is aware of fact alluded to below. So one more time:

John Roberts, Brett Kavanaugh, Amy Coney Barrett were all on GWBush 2000 'Florida Recount' team.

(Which made GWB first prez in 112 yrs to 'win' after losing popular vote. Now they 'impartially' rule on our future.)
Let me see if I've got this right. The team of lawyers who stole an election in Florida, and gave W the presidency, are now the Scotus team at the center of the GOP theft of our democracy.

While we ponder if programs running on expensive toasters are conscious, mankind kills billions of bred animals every year, and actively seeks to destroy any wildlife left on this planet.

So clearly, we don't give a damn about sentience in other beings.

Our investigation of Instagram and Facebook shows Meta has not adequately assessed the risks of features such as infinite scroll, auto-play, push notifications, and recommender systems.
