I'm not in the bus lane, you can't read the hours of operation

Put your damn weight plates away

There, that feels better

Harry's poor kids. Picked a school an hour away from home and then pulled them out after two days because they'd rushed the move and hadn't done proper security checks on the journey. Imagine all that after moving continent and you're in reception

At what point is it just embarrassing to keep pretending it's not Russia?

Yeah, if Burnham is going to mess about with the emergency alert like that I'm turning mine off

I think whatever poor minister they sent to do BBC breakfast basically just admitted PC Harper's killers have to be released because they're scared of legal action.
Get it together. You don't kill a police officer on duty and get out early. You just don't

I don't doubt he cares about this stuff, but he better not keep picking Friday. I'm surprised he did this time
Andy Burnham has pledged the newly-opened No10 North will be "the nerve centre of a rewired Britain", describing it as the best day in his life.

This reminds me of the waspi lady who made a similar comment about state pension. It's rather Margo Leadbetter

Wonder if anyone's done an equality impact assessment on No10 North and splitting the week between two cities

I mean, it's already not going terribly well. Let's hope it's like when a team has to settle into a match

If you're a bit bored with no football on, there is hours of entertainment to be had at the bottom of these data sets. "Three people last year actually called their kid........!"
Always think it’s a shame not to give your child the longest version of a name (William rather than Bill, Frederick rather than Freddie) just because it’s nice to have options. Also why I’m glad to have an otherwise redundant middle name.
Most popular baby names for boys and girls in 2025 revealed
The Office for National Statistics releases its annual data on baby names, with Olivia remaining most popular for girls and Muhammad for boys.

Harry is 'reliant' on private security everywhere isn't he? So his argument is basically "I'm furious my guys can't bring their massive guns", yes?

Well w very loud car crash outside my house at 6.45 certainly made for a relaxing start to Sunday (no one hurt, one driver went away in handcuffs)

The NI rise was when I firmly decided Starmer and Reeves were idiots. Worst decision possible implemented in the most destructive way
If you owned a small business (the sort of demographic that's turned most fiercely against Starmer), the NI rise was a bolt from the blue straight after a GE where you pledged no NI rise. For some, you can put business rate rises on top of that too

This is so true in employment litigation. It first swelled in covid, and my theory was that people had been cut off from the wider friends and family who would add perspective. Now it's AI sending roughly half the claimants I see down unhinged rabbit holes of utter conviction
AI chatbots agree with users 49% more often than humans do — even when users are being deceptive or harmful. A new Science paper shows this "sycophancy" isn't a quirk. It's a design choice, and it has real consequences. 1/5

Full overhaul of employment tribunals before they actually collapse. Pause on all new rights in the meantime. I don't think people know how bad its got
Can we start compiling a list of every policy you'd like to see a new Labour leader make? Big or small, what would actually start to make the country feel better for people?

Leadbetter was arrogant and dismissive of those with real concerns. In many cases not about the concept, but whether this law reached the high standards needed to protect the vulnerable.
The Lords was doing its job when she refused to do hers. Good for them
The behaviour of peers regarding the #AssistedDyingBill has been appalling. The House of Lords DOES NOT have the right to thwart the will of MPs and the public. Yet through time-wasting tactics, that’s exactly what a small handful of peers have done.

House of Lords has ‘signed its own death warrant’ by stalling assisted dying bill, says MP
Kim Leadbeater says people are ‘extremely angry’ at delaying tactics of peers as time runs out to pass bill

Wuthering Heights. Any time over about 30 it's a tale of a few adults trying to keep everyone fed and alive whilst vindictive sulky children twat about being dramatic
Okay, a related question: works that hit one way when you were young, and then very differently when you were older? The standout here for me is the 2007 Pregnancy Movies: Juno and Knocked Up. Can’t think of movies where my feelings towards the characters shifted so much with time
are there any works of art that have nothing like substantively wrong with them (as in they aren't like, or 'Birth of a nation' or any shit like that), that you dislike so strongly you can't get over it, despite it being fully aware that your objections are 100% aesthetic or even petty?

As Emma says, Dubai is built and runs on slave labour and human rights abuses. I'm sorry if THAT was the geopolitics you thought you were ok with for the tax breaks
"The trade was not that you were getting exposed to geopolitics when moving to Dubai."

Labour was elected in May 1997 and the national minimum wage came in in April 1999

Many of the promises in this election were far more complex to implement. Doing that takes time.

Simplism and childish impatience don't make change
Labour was built to give workers a voice and fight for a better deal. Workers' are scratching their heads with the lack of delivery over the last 18 months. #Labour need to stop being embarrassed about standing up for workers and communities.
