We’ll be looking at work we’ve done with 5 nature groups on the electoral politics of nature - and what the issue means to Lib Dem voters. From rivers to green spaces, nature is important to Brits, but is it important to Lib Dems at the ballot box?

🌹Burnham does well on all of them all but does particularly well on likability
🌳Badenoch is also net positive on them all, her bests are on 'in control' and competent
➡️ Farage is underwater on all but worse on trust

Great to see such a good turnout in Westminster Hall for debate on ecosystem collapse and national security led by @adrianramsay.bsky.social So important it leads to real action with cross-party backing.

Entirely understandable that #Kingspeech should major on security in its various forms. Given we know ever more about how nature underpins other forms of security it's a glaring omission for a government elected with a promise to restore nature to show no legislative plans to do so.

Well done to the UK government for launching England's first Land Use Framework. The LUF encourages more trees on farms -helping farmers to adapt to a changing climate while producing food. It's also a crucial first step to getting more trees planted in urban areas and tackling urban tree deserts.

How fixing the many small frustrations - that make up most of our interactions with the state - can give people faith in goverment's ability to make things work.

Having spent 18 months reviewing its targets for nature recovery (whilst some have absurdly blamed nature for lack of growth) the Government is running out of time to deliver them. Moving faster and further won't just help nature but public health and pride in place too bsky.app/profile/wcln...
📣 Nature targets are not optional – they are the law 📜

Will this Government be the first ever to break the law by missing legally binding nature targets?

The Office of Environmental Protection warns today that much more action is needed.

This just looks like ill judged opportunism. What we really need is work to reinforce the UK's place as a global leader. That means innovative action which links the tackling of the climate and nature crises and delivers tangible benefits to communities www.ft.com/content/1154...
