Another thing I want to highlight: a local rule require new tenancies to be registered within 15 days, but at least 75% of them are provably late and the median delay is 46 days, dominated by large buildings that just dump all their updates once per year.

Small sample, but reported October 2026 leases in Berkeley 1-bed and studio apartments ticked up 6.7% compared to October 2025. There are no direct comparisons I can report that leased in both Octobers.

I noticed that this softball interview did not mention "Strike Debt Bay Area" involvement in NIMBY b.s. like "saving" the worthless eyesore of the Berkeley Post Office from becoming homes. An East Bay "public bank" will just be left-NIMBYs handing out favors to their pals. Vote NO on Measure Z.

I noticed that this softball interview did not mention "Strike Debt Bay Area" involvement in NIMBY b.s. like "saving" the worthless eyesore of the Berkeley Post Office from becoming homes. An East Bay "public bank" will just be left-NIMBYs handing out favors to their pals. Vote NO on Measure Z.
Recently this was a parking lot. Cal did a decent job replacing the sidewalk.

Not to appear to be standing up for Sham Atman, but they are accidentally right in a way that everyone hates. Data centers are big and ugly and really efficient. If you ever drove to Best Buy to get some RAM for your PC, that's like a whole lifetime of using ChatGPT, as far as energy goes.
